So I had to replace my ignition switch recently (long story), and I wasn’t sure if I’d need a new key or not. Turns out you don't unless the key is physically damaged. Most of the time, your old key will work just fine with a new switch. Just thought I’d share, in case anyone’s stuck wondering the same thing I was.
