Title: Car overheating symptoms in a Dodge Charger – What to watch out for?
Linear Mode
#1
Hey everyone, I’ve got a 2014 Dodge Charger with the 5.7L HEMI, and lately, I’ve been noticing some weird signs that make me think it might be overheating. The first thing I noticed was that the temperature gauge started creeping up more quickly than usual, especially when I’m stuck in traffic or driving at low speeds. I haven’t seen it hit the red zone yet, but it’s getting close. Also, there’s this weird burning smell, kinda like plastic or rubber, coming from the engine bay. No visible steam yet, but I’m worried I might be heading in that direction.

Last year, I ignored similar symptoms, thinking it was just the hot weather, and ended up having to replace the radiator because it cracked. I don’t wanna make the same mistake again. I’ve checked the coolant levels, and everything seems fine, but maybe I’m missing something. Could it be a thermostat issue, or maybe the water pump? Has anyone had a similar experience with their Charger overheating? What other signs should I be looking for before things get worse? Any advice would be appreciated!
