I’ve got a 2015 Dodge Charger with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine, and I’ve been trying to figure out whether it has a timing belt or a timing chain. I’ve heard mixed answers from different people, and now I’m a bit confused. From what I’ve read, it seems like the 3.6L V6 actually uses a timing chain instead of a belt. But here’s the thing – with a timing belt, I know it needs to be replaced at certain intervals, but what about the chain? Does it need to be replaced at all, or is it one of those things that’s supposed to last for the life of the engine?
If anyone else has this engine or a similar model, have you had any issues with the timing chain? Should I be worried about it down the line, or is it one of those “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” situations? Just trying to get ahead of any potential issues! Thanks for clearing this up for me!
