Alright, guys, I’m at my wit’s end with this one! My 2016 Dodge Charger (3.6L V6, around 80,000 miles) suddenly decided not to start this morning. When I turn the key, I just get this repetitive clicking noise – no cranking, no engine turning over, just click-click-click. I checked the battery, and it's reading fine (even tried jumping it just to be sure), so I’m thinking it’s not a dead battery. The lights, radio, and everything else seem to be working, so I’m really stumped.
At first, I was hoping it was something simple like loose battery cables, but they seem solid. Now I’m worried it might be the starter or solenoid. I’ve also heard that sometimes it could be a bad relay or even an issue with the alternator. Anyone else run into this problem with their Charger? What ended up being the cause? I’m trying to avoid blindly replacing parts, especially since starters can be expensive. I’d love to get some insight before I decide to tow it to a shop.
Could it be something as simple as a ground wire issue or corrosion? I don’t see anything obvious, but I know electrical stuff can be tricky. Any advice or similar experiences would be super helpful right now. Thanks in advance!
