Hey everyone, I’ve got a bit of an issue with my 2016 Dodge Charger R/T (5.7L HEMI, around 85,000 miles), and I’m hoping someone here might have some insight. Whenever I hit the brakes, there’s this low rumbling sound that comes from the front of the car. It’s not the usual high-pitched squeak you get from worn-out brake pads – it’s more of a deep, almost vibrating rumble that I can feel through the pedal. The brakes still work fine, but the noise has me a little worried.
I’m thinking it could be the rotors – maybe they’re warped or have uneven wear? I’ve heard that can cause a rumbling or grinding sound when braking. Or could it be something else, like the brake calipers or wheel bearings? I haven’t noticed any other issues while driving, and it only happens when I brake at higher speeds or on a downhill slope.
Has anyone else experienced this with their Charger? If it’s the rotors, can they be resurfaced, or is it better to just replace them? I don’t want to wait too long and risk making things worse, but I also don’t want to jump straight into a costly repair if it’s something I can fix myself. Appreciate any advice you guys have before I take it to the shop!
