Title: Problems After Changing Spark Plugs on a Dodge Charger
Threaded Mode
#1
Hey all, I could really use some advice. I recently changed the spark plugs on my 2014 Dodge Charger with the 5.7L HEMI V8 engine, and ever since, it’s been running rougher than ever. Before the change, it was running pretty smoothly, but I figured it was time for some fresh plugs as part of routine maintenance. I used OEM-spec plugs and torqued them to the recommended specs, but now I’m getting a noticeable misfire at idle and even under light acceleration. The engine feels like it’s stumbling, and I’m worried that I might have done something wrong during the installation.

I double-checked the gap on the plugs, made sure the coil packs were seated properly, and even reset the ECU, but nothing seems to help. Could I have missed something? Is this a common issue after a spark plug change on the HEMI, or is there something specific I should be looking for? I’ve read that sometimes the ignition coils can get damaged during a plug change or that a vacuum leak could cause these symptoms, but I’m not sure where to start. I’m really regretting doing this myself right now, so any advice to smooth things out would be a lifesaver!
