Title: Why does my Dodge Charger struggle to accelerate when the AC is on?
Threaded Mode
#1
So, I’ve got a 2013 Dodge Charger with the 5.7L HEMI, and every time I turn on the AC, it feels like someone’s holding the car back. Acceleration gets really sluggish, almost like I’ve dropped a cylinder or two. I know running the AC pulls some power from the engine, but this feels way more extreme than it should be.
Like, I’m flooring it, and it’s still sluggish. Is this normal, or is my AC system robbing all the power? Could it be a sign of a bigger issue like the compressor or something else going bad? Anyone else experienced this with their Charger? If so, how did you fix it? It’s driving me crazy, especially in summer when I really need the AC but still want to enjoy driving without the car feeling like it’s hauling bricks.
