Title: When should I replace the timing belt on a Dodge Charger?
Threaded Mode
#1
Hey everyone, I’ve got a 2014 Dodge Charger with the 3.6L V6 engine, and it’s sitting at around 95,000 miles. I know timing belts (or chains) are a big deal when it comes to keeping everything running smoothly, but I’m not exactly sure when I should replace it. My buddy keeps joking that I should just wait until it snaps, but I’m pretty sure that’s a recipe for disaster! I’d rather not have my engine blow up on me while I’m driving down the highway.

Does anyone know what mileage I should be looking out for? I’ve heard some cars can go up to 100,000 or even 120,000 miles before needing a timing belt replacement, but I don’t want to push my luck. Also, does the V6 in my Charger use a belt or a chain? I’ve seen conflicting info online, and I’d like to make sure I’m getting ahead of any potential problems. If you’ve done this on your Charger, I’d love to hear your experience and what I should expect in terms of cost and labor! Thanks in advance for the help!
