Alright, here’s the situation—I was cruising down the highway in my 2014 Dodge Charger (3.6L Pentastar) when out of nowhere, the check engine light pops on. No biggie, right? I’ve dealt with that before. But then, I go to turn on the cruise control, and... nothing. It's completely dead. Both things happened at the exact same time, which seems a little too coincidental to me. I’ve heard that sometimes a check engine light can disable the cruise control, but I’m not sure if that’s the case here.
The car drives fine otherwise—no weird noises or performance issues—but I’m wondering if the two problems are related or if I just got hit with a double whammy. Anyone else had this happen? I’ll probably head to the shop soon and get the code checked, but just wanted to see if any fellow Charger owners have been through this. Could it be something small like a sensor, or am I in for a bigger fix?
