Hey everyone, here’s a weird issue I’ve been having with my 2017 Dodge Charger SXT (3.6L V6, around 60,000 miles). Every time I fill up at the gas station, my Charger refuses to start right away. I turn the key (or press the push-start), and it just cranks without catching. After a few tries, it eventually turns over and runs fine, but it’s getting really frustrating, especially when I’m at a busy gas station and people are waiting behind me.
I did some digging, and it sounds like this could be related to the EVAP system, which controls fuel vapors. Maybe a bad purge valve or something causing a vapor lock? I’m also wondering if it could be the fuel pump or a sensor issue. I haven’t noticed any other issues while driving – no rough idling, no stalling – just this annoying problem right after I fill up.
Has anyone else had this happen with their Charger? If so, what did you do to fix it? I’m trying to avoid going straight to the dealer if it’s something I can troubleshoot or replace myself. Would love to hear your experiences or if anyone has any quick DIY fixes for this. Thanks in advance for the help!
