Title: Why are my brake lights staying on in my Dodge Charger?
Threaded Mode
#1
Hey everyone, I’m having a weird issue with my 2016 Dodge Charger. My brake lights are stuck on, and I mean stuck. Even when the car is off, they just stay on like a Christmas tree, and I’m worried it’s gonna drain my battery. I already checked the brake pedal to see if it was jammed or something, but it seems fine – no sticking or anything unusual when I press it.
After doing some quick research, I found out that it could be the brake light switch causing the problem. Apparently, if the switch gets stuck or breaks, the car thinks the brakes are engaged even when they’re not, which keeps the lights on. The thing is, I’ve never dealt with this before, so I’m not sure how to fix it or if it’s something I can DIY without breaking something else, haha.
Has anyone else had this issue with their Charger? Is the brake light switch easy to replace, or should I leave this one to the pros? Would appreciate any tips before my battery bites the dust!
